Professional Supervision / Kaitiakitanga

Supervision is a confidential, safe space to share successes, supporting you to improve your practice, explore workplace issues and enhance your mauri ora / wellbeing.  My role as kaitiaki is to encourage you to develop insight, grow your confidence, your cultural capabilities, and to maintain ethical, quality service. By nurturing your professional and personal growth, recognising strengths and successes and supporting you to work through challenges, supervision empowers you to thrive in work and life.

Leisa’s mahi truly makes an impact within my practice. “Leisa taught us how to pronounce words and phrases that we could use every day. She demonstrated patience, persistence, and practical examples of how to speak, work together with others. It was a very rewarding experience, with lots of encouragement by Leisa she made it an inviting atmosphere filled with fun as we learned the basics of Te Reo, a beautiful pounamu (treasure) given to us."

Reflections from practise

Te timatanga o te mātauranga ko te wahangū, te wāhanga tuarua ko te whakarongo.
The first stage of learning is silence, the second is listening.
As a supervisor and kaitiaki, it is my role to really listen to my supervisees. I invite you to read my reflections from the mahi I do with supervisees, and the learning we gain through this.
